Unable to update/create event on Calendar, unable to upload docs

Dean is from the board, and he is the secretary. He would like to be granted access to the following in Foundation:
- Be able to upload documents (such as minutes of the meetings) in the Document Library
- Be able to Create an Event in the Calendar -- he is encountering error message when doing this
